Giving a council member admin access
Let a council member run Pleno like the president or vice president, for one council year.
What it is
The president and vice president are Pleno's admins. When they would rather someone else drives Pleno day to day, they can give admin access to another council member: the treasurer, the secretary, a council member, the property manager or any other council seat.
A member with admin access can do what the president and vice president do in Pleno: manage people (council invites and assigning roles included), settings, notifications, the billing plan, projects and votes, documents, and contracts and contractors (deleting them included).
What you can do
- In Settings › Access & permissions › Admin access, choose Give admin access or Remove admin access beside a council member. The card shows how many of the two places are used.
- Everyone on council is emailed when someone is given admin access, saying who gave it and that it ends at the next council transition.
- Members with admin access show an Administrator badge beside their role in Settings › People.
- After Complete transition, the card asks about each member who had admin access last year and is still on council: Keep gives it back for the new council year, Not now leaves it off. Settings › People points there until you've answered.
Who can do it
The president or vice president only, and not during the 90-day read-only overlap after their term ends. A member with admin access can see who has it but can't give or remove it, and can't demote or remove another member who has it.
Limits and things to know
- At most two members have admin access at once. Remove it from one to give it to someone else.
- A transition member can't be given admin access until they hold a council seat. Moving someone to resident, to transition member, or into the president or vice president seat ends their admin access, and so does removing them. Moving them to another council seat keeps it.
- Admin access ends for everyone when the council transition is completed after the AGM. Nothing is lost: the president or vice president is asked whether each member keeps it.
- What stays with the president and vice president: giving and removing admin access, changing or removing the president's or vice president's seat (or giving anyone either seat), transferring the presidency, changing who uses an account, and demoting or removing another member who has admin access.
- A strata always keeps a president or vice president. Admin access never counts for that, so the last president or vice president still can't be removed.
- The 90-day read-only overlap after a term ends applies to members with admin access as to everyone else.
- Pleno keeps a record of who gave, removed, kept or didn't keep admin access, and when, and of admin access that ended with a member's seat (a move to a seat that can't hold it, or a removal).
