Confirming a president

How transition members vote in the incoming president during handover.

What it is

During certain transition flows, people in the transition member seat use Confirm president to vote for the incoming president so the singleton president role is assigned cleanly.

What you can do

  • Open the confirm-president page when prompted
  • Cast your vote for the incoming president
  • Continue onboarding/role assignment once the seat is settled

Who can do it

Transition members in an active confirmation flow. Ordinary residents do not participate.

Limits and things to know

  • This is part of council handover, not a general election tool for every AGM motion.
  • Promotion needs a majority of transition members to confirm the same candidate, with a minimum of three matching confirmations.
  • If confirmation stalls, an outgoing president, vice president, or treasurer can promote the incoming president directly.
  • After confirmation, the president finishes the remaining role assignments in Settings → Council.
