Post-AGM council transition

How Pleno helps hand the building to a new council after the AGM.

What it is

After an AGM, roles change. Pleno’s council transition tools help you rotate seats, keep a short overlap for outgoing executives, and avoid a hard cut that loses context.

What you can do

  • Set or update the AGM date in Settings → Council
  • Start and complete a transition from Council settings
  • Bring incoming council in, either by a council invite from Settings → Council (as a council member or property manager) or by promoting an existing resident in Settings → Members
  • Assign a permanent role to anyone sitting in a transition member seat
  • Keep outgoing executives in a temporary read-only overlap window
  • Use the AGM banner prompts when rotation is due

Who can do it

Council admins start and complete the transition. Council invites and role assignment are the president’s alone, and promoting a resident into council is the president or vice president. Transition members participate in confirming a president when that step applies.

Limits and things to know

  • A transition can be started within 6 weeks before the AGM, or any time after the AGM date has passed.
  • Overlap read-only still allows viewing maintenance and reports for 90 days from the AGM date.
  • Billing and admin powers follow the new role assignments — finish role transfer deliberately.
  • History on cards and documents stays with the building regardless of who is on council.
