Needs review and draft cards
How email drafts and incomplete intake land in Needs review before they join the board.
What it is
Not every card is ready for the board. Email forwards, add-on submissions, and incomplete intake create draft cards that sit in Needs review until someone publishes or discards them.
What you can do
- Open a draft from Needs review
- Complete missing fields
- Publish the card onto the board
- Discard a draft that should not become work
- Configure whether all council members can see Needs review, or only admins (Settings → Council)
Who can do it
Council admins always see Needs review. Other council members see it when the strata setting allows. Publishing and discarding follow the same rule: admins always, and all council members when the setting is enabled.
Limits and things to know
- On Free, email-to-card drafting is not available the same way as on paid plans. Standard can receive forwards as stubs; Pro adds AI extraction.
- Drafts that never get published do not become open cards on the board, but they still need someone to clear the queue.
