What residents can see
Which document categories are available to residents versus council.
What it is
Residents can open Documents, but they only see files in the three categories Pleno treats as resident-readable: Bylaw, Rule, and Insurance. Nothing else in the library is visible to them.
Council members see the full library, including minutes, financials, correspondence, and contracts-related files.
What you can do
- As a resident: open and download files in those categories
- As council: decide what you file into those categories knowing residents may read them
Who can do it
Applies automatically by role. There is no per-file “share with resident” switch — the category a file sits in is what decides resident access.
Limits and things to know
- A file with no category is never resident-readable. Leaving a document uncategorized keeps it council-only; it does not expose it.
- Every other category, including Minutes and Financial, is council-only as well.
- Do not put confidential council materials in Bylaw, Rule, or Insurance if residents should not see them.
- Moving a file into or out of one of those three categories changes who can read it right away.
