Turning a report into a maintenance card
Promote a report into new tracked work or attach it to an existing card.
What it is
When a report needs formal tracking on the maintenance board, council can promote it to a new card or add it to an existing card.
What you can do
From report detail:
- Create a new maintenance card from the report
- Link the report to a card that already exists
- Keep using notes and documents on both sides as work continues
Reporter milestone emails (received / planning / done) can notify the resident when those events are enabled for the building.
Who can do it
Council members with permission to create or link maintenance work.
Limits and things to know
- Promotion is blocked on Free when the building is already at the 10 open-card limit.
- Linking does not remove the original report — the report remains in the reports list.
- Not every report should become a card; many are informational and only need review.
