What the timeline shows
A summary of the period and a row for every maintenance card, plus resident reports.
What it is
Timeline shows what happened in your building over a period you pick. It includes maintenance cards that are In progress, Done or Archived, plus resident reports, so council can see what happened when without moving between boards. Cards still in Planning or On hold do not appear.
What you can do
Dates follow your building's local time (Pacific time in BC). "Today", each day's start and end, and the periods you pick all use it, so a card finished at 9pm counts on that day, not the next.
Pick the period: use 30 days, 3 months or 12 months at the top, or open the date menu for more presets (last 7 days, this month, last month, this year, last calendar year) or a custom range.
Read the summary: four tiles sit above the rows:
- Still open: how many cards are open, and which has been open longest.
- Finished in this period: cards that reached Done in the period, and how long they took on average. Archived cards are counted separately, on the Archived chip.
- New reports: resident reports in the period, and the latest one.
- Activity by month: cards opened and finished in each of the last 12 months. Click a month to show just that month; click it again to go back to the last 30 days.
Read the rows: each card is a row with its title, number, location and dates. Its bar runs from the day it went In progress to the day it was finished:
- Amber bars are still open and run up to today.
- Green bars are finished.
- Grey bars are archived.
- Red striped bars were cancelled: they end on the day the work was cancelled, and the tooltip says who cancelled it and why.
- Striped stretches were on hold.
- A bar with a faded left edge started before the period, and its label says since when.
- A line marks today. The chart runs a few days past it (a day for a short range, up to two weeks for a year), and those future days are lightly shaded.
Read the dates: the dates along the top change with the period:
- 7 days: every day, with its weekday; today is in bold.
- About a month: every 2 or 3 days.
- 3 months: every 5 or 7 days.
- 12 months: each month.
A narrower window shows fewer labels so they never overlap.
Get the details: hover a row to see its status, location, dates, how long it took, and any time on hold with its reason. Click it to open the card.
See reports: the Reports from residents row has one mark per day. The stronger the colour, the more reports that day: darker in light mode, brighter in dark mode. Click a day to see its reports.
On a phone
Timeline works in a phone browser too, from More in the bar at the bottom.
- The summary shows Still open and Finished in this period side by side, then New reports and Activity by month (six months to a line).
- The type chips, search, location, More filters and Group by wrap to the width of the screen.
- The chart keeps a readable width and scrolls sideways: it opens at today, and you swipe it to the right to go back through the period. The cards' names stay at the left as you swipe; each takes up to two lines, with its number and place under it.
- Tap a row to open the card, or a day in Reports from residents to see its reports. There's no hover on a phone: the card itself has its dates, location and time on hold.
- The page scrolls as one, so the top bar with the periods goes up as you scroll down.
Who can do it
Council only.
Limits and things to know
- On a phone, the dates along the top scroll away with the rows rather than staying in view, and a day in Reports from residents is narrow on a long period: pick a shorter one to tap a day more easily.
- Timeline is not available as its own tab in the installed mobile app shell.
- The "Activity by month" tile always covers the last 12 months, whatever period is picked. It follows the unit, common area and tag filters, but not the search box or location picker.
