Filtering the timeline
Narrow the timeline by type, search, location, units, common areas and tags, and group its rows.
What it is
Filters help you answer specific questions: what happened in this unit, what tagged work moved, or what residents reported last quarter.
What you can do
- Type chips: turn Still open, Finished, Cancelled, Archived and Reports on or off. Each chip shows how many are in the period. Archived is off until you turn it on; cancelled work shows by default.
- Search: type part of a card's title, its number, or a location, such as "boiler" or "304".
- Location: pick one location from those in the period.
- More filters: narrow the timeline to one or more units, common areas or tags, then choose Apply filters. The button shows how many of these filters are on.
- Group by:
- Status (still open, finished, archived);
- Location (one section per place);
- Project (one section per maintenance project, with cards outside projects at the end).
The type chips and Group by choice are remembered in this browser. Search and the location picker reset when you leave the page.
Who can do it
Council members with Timeline access.
Limits and things to know
- The summary tiles follow the search and location picker, but not the type chips.
- Filters apply to the events Timeline can load; very long histories may take a moment to finish loading.
- Use Maintenance or Reports directly when you need bulk editing rather than a chronological skim.
